In Colombia, the most recognized indigenous are the communities of Putumayo, and the Embera indigenous communities in Choco, Risaralda, Caldas, and Antioquia. they are dedicated to weaving beads and making products such as earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, among others.

Their techniques and artisanal fabrics reflect culture, tradition, connection, spiritual journeys and their reverence for Mother Nature, which is transmitted generationally and today has become a major source of income for these families.

The indigenous Embera communities have migrated to the big cities like Medellin, which is why in Medellin we find great artisans who have learned the art of hand-weaving (Miyuki or Czech beads).

Coralia´s artisans learn weaving techniques such as peyote, square stitch, brick stitch, net stitch, right angle weave, herringbone weave and chevron stitch, increasing complexity and creativity, and combining colours without losing the traditional style.

At Coralia, we love to have unique pieces, of varying sizes, and shapes, which reflect Happiness, authenticity and empowerment. The small piece of art, makes you look and feel different.

Our earrings are hand-woven by our artisans in Medellín and myself in Canada, each one of us hand-knits for different reasons and this has allowed us to connect as a community. at the core is hand-knitting with love, trust, and emotion, always valuing and appreciating our indigenous and cultural roots. It is important to remember how they involved new colours that we do not dare to use, that is why when you buy a product at Coralia it is a unique product, made with love, an original piece and special in its unique story.

Coralia will continue to empower and help our artisans by allowing them to share their incredible designs in Canada. We are committed to maintaining traditional designs such as waterfall earrings (fringe), triangular earrings, and hoops and combining them with new modern models without losing our roots.
